The research project promoted by researchers from the URV and coordinated by Dr. Blanca Deusdad makes a seal robot available to the elderly to improve their quality of life and that of their environment. Residents of the Santa Creu Jesús Home (Tortosa) have had the opportunity to interact with Nuka, the robot with the appearance of a seal pup designed to generate empathetic bonds and improve communication and well-being of the elderly. For two weeks, Nuka will remain at the Santa Creu Home so that researchers and professionals can observe its effects on daily life and social inclusion.
