International Research Forum on Multi-owned Properties

The International Forum brings together researchers from around the world to share work on multi-owned properties, including condominium, strata property, common interest developments, housing cooperatives, and homeowner associations.

Organized by the City Futures Research Centre (UNSW) and the UNESCO Housing Chair (URV), this edition of the Forum includes two days of meetings at University Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona, Spain) and a field trip.

This is the 7th edition of IFMOP after the sucessful editions in South Africa, Australia and Canada. This is the first time that the Forum is taking place in Europe.

We are delighted to announce that the 7th International Research Forum on Multi-Owned Properties will run from 15-17 May at the Centre Tarraconense el Seminari in Tarragona, Spain.

Organised by Prof Hazel Easthope and Dr Laura Crommelin at UNSW City Futures Research Centre, and hosted by Prof Sergio Nasarre-Aznar at the UNESCO Housing Chair Universitat Rovira i Virgili, the forum will bring together international researchers to share their knowledge and research on multi-owned properties (strata title, unit title, condominium, common interest development, homeowner association and other similarly structured properties).

We would like to invite interested presenters to submit a paper proposal on any research topic related to multi-owned properties. We welcome proposals from academics and practitioners, with priority given to papers drawing on the findings of systematic research.

Discipline and field of research areas may include but are not limited to:

The format of the forum is designed to encourage collective engagement and relationship-building. The forum does not involve parallel sessions; selected papers will be presented in-person to the entire group, with 40-minute slots allocated to allow for a presentation followed by substantive group discussion. For this reason, only a limited number of participants will be selected to present alongside our keynote speaker Professor Amnon Lehavi from Reichman University.

If you would like to present, please submit an abstract (in English language) of no longer than 250 words by 4^th February 2024 to Hazel Easthope at hazel.easthope@unsw.edu.au. We encourage presentations from postgraduate students and early career researchers as well as more established researchers.
